Moonfrost Shines at EGX x MCM Comic Con London 2024

Announcement of Moonfrost attending EGX-MCM London 2024

This year’s combined EGX x MCM Comic Con London 2024 marked an exciting milestone for the Moonfrost team, as it was their first-ever in-person event. The team behind the highly anticipated farming-life simulation game had the incredible opportunity to connect with players face-to-face, share the magic of their creation, and showcase Moonfrost to over 100,000 eager attendees of the event.

The booth was set up in the Fragers and ReedPop Farm area, with four PCs dedicated to the game where players could come and play Moonfrost and chat to the devs. The response was nothing short of extraordinary. Players flocked to the booth, sometimes waiting over an hour to play and experiencing the game firsthand. The energy was electric, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

The team was humbled and thrilled by the incredible reception. For Gina (co-CEO and Art Director, also known as the “Boss Witch”), Arran (Lead Designer), and Nuno (Associate Lead Engineer), this was a unique and heartwarming experience. 

Three key pieces of feedback seemed to recur throughout the event

  “We love the visuals!”

  “We love the music.” 

“It’s like Stardew but better!”.

Many attendees were drawn to Moonfrost’s charming art style, praised the enchanting and original music (which was blasting from speakers at the event), and loved its fresh take on the life-sim genre. In fact, the game created such a buzz that even the organizers of Comic Con stopped by the booth, sharing that they had heard, “If you only see one thing at Comic Con, it should be Moonfrost.”

Connecting with the Community

A highlight of the event was meeting members of the growing Moonfrost community in person. The team got the chance to have meaningful conversations with players, gathering valuable insights through interviews and handwritten feedback notes. It was clear that Moonfrost resonated with a broad demographic—from young  kids to seasoned gamers, with players generally being fans of games like Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing,  Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Sims.

This diverse group shared one thing in common: a love for immersive, cozy gaming experiences. The team left the event with an even clearer understanding of their audience and an appreciation for how much players already adored Moonfrost.

An Event to Remember

To make the experience even sweeter, everyone who visited the booth was invited to sign up for a game key so they could continue playing at home. The opportunity to engage with players in real-time and share the game with hundreds of people was an unforgettable milestone for the team.

Reflecting on the event, the Moonfrost team summed it up perfectly: “It was absolutely incredible.” The feedback, enthusiasm, and community support have energized the team as they continue crafting a game that promises to be a favorite for fans of the genre.

As Moonfrost edges closer to release, it’s clear that this enchanting farming-life simulation is already sowing seeds of success. If Comic Con was any indication, the future for Moonfrost is as bright and vibrant as its stunning in-game world.
